Joe is a 30+ year UA member. Prior to starting his apprenticeship with Plumbers Local Union 519 in Miami, Joe served in the U.S. Navy and was trained in the U.S. Naval Construction Battalion, better known as the Seabees. In 2006 Joe was elected as Local 519’s Business Agent where he served for 11 years. Joe continued to teach several plumbing classes for the apprenticeship and sat on several UA Committees for training. In 2017, he became Plumbers 519 JAEC Director of Training. He’s been an ITP instructor since 2009. He created a plumbing service program for his local which was later adopted by the UA and continues to grow today. Joe was appointed as UA Training Specialist for the United Association on September 1, 2022, overseeing Plumbing, Plumbing Service and Water Quality Curriculums.
